Jody Houghton's illustrations and writings have warmed the hearts of dedicated gift buyers for over twenty years. Her down-to-earth point of view and unique artistic style is attributed to the longevity of her successful home-based business. Drawing on her personal life experiences, spiritual values, and her peer group (Wise Women Over Fifty) in creating her work, Jody's positive and encouraging writing style inspires her readers to celebrate life each and every moment. Her artistic expression reveals a sense of whimsy with light-hearted humor and joy.
Jody's artistic application is a life-long combination of skills, exhibiting her love for color, and arts and crafts. A detailed blending of watercolor paper, acrylic paint, stencil cutting, pen and ink detailing, and sewing and quilt design skills are revealed in her creations. Her work is truly an original technique of mixed media. A native Oregonian, Jody lives in Wilsonville, just south of Portland. Her life has been blessed with two wonderful children, Michele and Iain.
Quilt Camp at Sea is delighted that Jody has agreed to return as our special guest artist on the 2012 Mexican Riviera Girls Just Want To Have FUN cruise!! This will be Jody’s third appearance as the special guest artist on a Quilt Camp at Sea cruise, with each cruise featuring Jody’s whimsical fabric lines with Faith, Hope, and Charity (The Sisterhood of Quilters and Earth Blessings on the 2010 Alaska cruise, Quilting at Sea on the 2011 Alaska cruise, and Girls Having Fun on the 2012 Mexican Riviera cruise in addition to her Beach Babes being featured on the 2011 Mexican Riviera cruise)!!
